Pictures behind the cut!

Nephews

I begged my sister-in-law to send some pictures of our nephews, Nicky and Simon, and she did!  Yay!  They are getting so big... :(  I'm missing so much.  God...Nick's birthday is on Sept. 23...another year older.  Time flies.  Shit...I need to buy presents!!  I'm a bad, bad aunt.

Nicky

My sister-in-law, Sara, Nick, and Simon.  Nick is sooo tall and skinny.  He is in like the 98th percentile for height but only in about the 60th percentile for weight.  And Simon, he's looks liek such a BIG baby, but supposedly he's pretty normal percentile...or so they tell me, LOL

Simon

This is an older pic, but it is of my brother, Bobby, on the day Simon was born.  He was born on a 23rd as well.

Writing "in-law" reminds me of a "funny" story.  I had joked to Daphne's parents that, since Daph and I weren't allowed to get married, they weren't technically my "in-laws," so instead, I would call them my "in-equities."  Now, this was really funny to me, because it was stock full of meaning.  In law school, you learn all about Equity courts and Law courts - now in the United States, these courts have been combined.  But historically, Law courts covered cases with actual legal basis.  Equity courts would deal with "fairness" cases. Actually, wikipedia says it better: "In law, decisions are made by reference to legal doctrines or statutes. In contrast, equity, with its emphasis on fairness and flexibility, has only general guides known as the maxims of equity."  So, the joke being, if we aren't LEGALLY married, we are, at least, in all fairness married in equity.  Not to mention "in-equity" is a play on words with "inequity" which means: "unfairness: injustice by virtue of not conforming with rules or standards."

But a sweet turn n that joke I made...  Daphne's sister said to me, "No, you are my sister-in-love."  It just melted my heart.  MUCH MUCH better, and far less cynical and bitter, ;)
